Another Use Up!

Finally I have another Use-UP!!!  which means another £ in my pot!

This was a travel size conditioner from the Thistle Hotel.  This would have been accumulated either when me or my mum had stayed at one of these hotels.  I really liked this product. I got 3/4 washes out of it (could have been more as I know my mum was using it as well.  It had a lovely smell and was lovely to apply to my hair.  I obviously cant buy this again but I know I have more in my stash so that's fine.

This is only a short post this time as I have Coursework for Uni and its late :P :P

How are you lot getting on with your new years resolutions??

Anyone given up yet? Normally I give up after a month...but I am determined to keep this one...it is helping clear out my room as well...which is a bonus!

Drop me a line via facebook or twitter or on here...I would love to hear from you!

Results! and Charity Event

Its a new week!

So I have been a bit neglectful in the last week. But today was my results from University...I was so nervous it was unreal....however I have done really well so I am soo pleased.  I haven't had any more use ups as I was hoping to finish my conditioner off but a friend is becoming a hair dresser and he needed someone to practice on so I let him...it was really nice to get all pampered.

Also my ebay selling is going well so its been a week of good things!

I also collected my Dr Dre Beats headphones and I am in love with them! They are soo nice and I got such a bargain it was unreal.

Another thing that I have been really interested in, is this charity event...What's in your box where some local women are trying to raise money for the local childrens ward at the Royal Cornwall Hospital because one of their sons needed a certain machine but had to have one that wasn't as good as they only have 1 top of the range one and that was already being used by someone else.  It's a really good idea. You pay £5 for a box and on the 17th Feb you are guaranteed a prize.  The prizes are amazing!

So if you have some spare money and want to buy a box or you are a business who can donate then please do...its an amazing cause and a fantastic idea.

They have met both their targets but they are still going.

Closing Date is the 16th Feb to buy.

Well today I was hoping for another Use Up to add to my list! But never mind...soon though.

*A good tip if you run out of bath bubbles you can use body wash if you have lots of that taking up room in your stash

*Another money saving tip: if you are brave enough to write a stash list and see what you have and some products you don't like or got given, you could make hampers to give people for birthday and Christmas ...this way you can count them as use ups and saves £££'s!

Okay so I have been selling lots on Ebay and every time I use up I add £1 to my pot I've decided to buy some beats headphones.  For a short time only they are on offer at Comet with an extra 20%! This means that the beats headphones I brought were originally £300, were now £161 in the sale but with the 20% off they are now £129...bargain! Also you can collect in a store near you so its free delivery!! I got some for me and my boyfriend!

www.comet.com for a bargain on other things as well!

So how are you lot going with your new years resolutions...whether you are doing the same challenge as me or other ones?

First few reviews on products

Hey everyone,

So I have added to my list and have these Use Ups.  I'm going to review them to see whether I would buy again or not.

Both the Mini travel size conditioners were liberated from different hotels when either my mum or I travelled overnight anywhere.  Both had at least 4 uses out of them, which is surprising considering they are just freebies provided by hotels.  They were both fragranced with sweet smells.  I would use again!

My next review is on Sunsilk shampoo Deeply Brunette.  I am one of those people that takes ages to find a really good shampoo.  But now I have and this is it.  My hair tends to get greasy quickly and so I need something to combat this.  This is the wonder product.  I love how the shampoo itself is all glittery, however, where I use to buy it has discontinued it.  But it was a bargain at £0.89 so I did buy quite a few whenever I went near this shop as its a bit of drive from where I live or I got others to get some for me!  However, it is a good job that I have some in my toiletry stash!

·  My next review is on this L'Oreal Volume Shocking Two Step Construction Mascara in Black.  This is an amazing product especially if you have non-existent eye lashes.  This is so easy to apply and makes them look so nice. When I brought it, it was only $6 on offer.  It's a shame that its all gone but while I lived in Orlando over the summer I picked up another one similar to this so I will start using that one now.

·   My final review is on this  nails inc London in pink.  I loved this nail varnish and got it a last year when it was free with the glamour magazine. They normally retail between £10 - £12 and all you had to do was buy the magazine for £2...bargin! Normally with freebies you have certain judgements.  However, this product proved me wrong.  I love it so easy to apply, looks lovely and deffinately worth paying full price.  Really sad its all run out though and I don't have any more in my stash :(.  I will have to use up more nail varnishes before I can buy another one of these or if I see it on offer...sometimes they do offers with Coke/Diet Coke products.

Happy Reading

Welcome!

Hello and Welcome to My New blog

This blog will be following my New Years Resolution of   "No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in 2012 Challenge" and how I deal with all the temptations and offers that always seem to be lurking.  I would love to know how you lot do as well if you chose to do the same resolution.

To view what I have used up so far the list on the top will show it.  I will update this every time I use something up.

Here are some helpful tips from a friends blog (http://victorias-vintage.blogspot.com/2011/12/no-buying-unnecessary-toiletries-in.html):

Here's the aim:
"No buying any new toiletries, cosmetics, perfume etc until I have used up all the ones I already have."

And here's some helpful tips from the forum:
  • Do a stock-take and see if there are any gaps in your stash that you might need to spend on this month
  • Set a budget for the month for essential purchases or to help with withdrawal symptoms
  • List everything so you can cross things off as they are used to increase the sense of achievement
  • Put a sum of money in a pot each time you use up an item to save for something you really want
  • Remember the challenge is about making the most of your money, enjoying your products, finding which products really suit you best and are worth buying, giving yourself a well-deserved pampering and breaking the habit of buying for the sake of buying.
  • It helps to avoid the places where temptation lurks: Boots, Bodyshop, the supermarket toiletries aisles, seductive department store beauty counter offers etc.
  • Remember retailers make offers and promotions all the time, so there willl always be another deal!
